Chocolate Banana Smoothie

Smoothies can be super simple or a meal in a cup. It’s definitely something to watch calories and sugar on. Those numbers can add up fast.

These worked great to give my son that ‘meal’ when he couldn’t really chew anything after oral surgery.

One for now ... one for later ...

INGREDIENTS:

16 oz almond milk

8 oz liquid egg whites

1 avocado

2 scoops of chocolate protein powder

1 scoop Orgain berry Superfood

1 cup spinach

1 tbsp MCT oil

1 banana

This makes about four 8 oz servings

Cover and store in the fridge for later

Notes:

You could use any milk. This recipe has unsweetened vanilla almond milk. Watch the sugar grams on the label.

Right now we are using:

Any fruit could be used. I have a freezer full of frozen cut-up fruits and veggie cubes and this is what I use instead of ice cubes.

If you don’t have MCT Oil, you can drop in a tablespoon of coconut oil.

I love to add flax, chia and /or hemp seeds to smoothies. After oral surgery isn’t a good idea, those little seeds could be lodged in a place where a tooth used to be.
