How to Unclog Your Drain with Natural Items

Updated: Sep 8, 2023

Don't you hate it when it's late at night and the water in the sink just sits there? Or, in the middle of food prep, you notice the water isn't going down the kitchen sink.

We've all been there, that feeling of .. oh crap.

Pouring store-bought harsh chemicals down the drain might seem like a quick fix. But these could cause damage and lead to other problems over time, not to mention they are toxic for you and bad for the environment.

This little all-natural trick might not be the ultimate fix ticket, but it worked well enough to get us through until a plumber could come out.

This could even be included in a cleaning routine for maintenance purposes.

How To:

You'll need:

  • one cup of baking soda

  • one cup of table salt

  • one cup of white vinegar

Try to wait for the water to drain from the sink, then put the baking soda, salt, and vinegar (in that order) into the drain.

Let it sit for 10 minutes.

While you're waiting, boil water to flush down the drain after 10 minutes.

Voila!! Hopefully, this works.

Note: More persistent problems or bad backups may require a plumber.

Have you tried this method before?
