Layered Lasagna

Our house is a big fan of pasta. In small portions. It’s not always a fan of our bodies. It’s a love-hate relationship really.

I love love lasagna but I hate all the time it takes. This is super easy, quick, and picky family approved.

Ingredients:

1 lb ground beef*

1 onion chopped

1 tbsp fresh minced garlic

1 3/4 cups spaghetti sauce*

1 tbsp Oregano

6 oz Dreamfields Penna pasta*

1 cup Daisy full fat cottage cheese

1 cup mozzarella cheese

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees

In a stovetop skillet, brown the hamburger with the onion

Start cooking the pasta according to the package

Drain off the grease

Put back on the stove

Add in the garlic, sauce, and oregano

Drain the noodles and put them in the pan with the hamburger, mix it all together

In a greased glass baking dish, add about half of the meat noodle mixture

Layer the cottage cheese

Add the rest of the meat noodle mixture

Top it off with mozzarella cheese

Bake for 15-20 minutes

Needs to be heated through and the cheese melted

Adding a salad or a vegetable can complete the meal

* * To Note

For this I used:

Grass-fed ground beef. Bison, turkey, or other meat could be used.

Organic spaghetti sauce (watch the sugar and added ingredients on the sauce label, the sugar can sneak in).

We use Dreamfields Pasta or gluten-free but any penne could be used.

Any substitutions would alter the sugar and carbs levels of the final numbers listed here
